Either moths are the dumbest alive thing on the planet or just the worst to be able to fly and yet still have eyes. I mean I get ready to tuck my kid into bed tonight and some moths had gotten into the house and flew up to his room since he has a night light. Well I turn on the light and they start flying around in circles and banging into everything.
Then as you sit and watch the it is like they are a 3 yr old trying to drive a car. No real reason or direction and bouncing off more items in the room (walls, roof, floor) worse then a stray bumper car locked on go.

And then when it is all said and done if you leave the light on long enough they just fly right to it and POOF gone with some nasty smell that is worse then burnt milk. ??? What gives. How do we end up with so many of these when they are that freeking stupid?

Well, those little bugs adapted to a en enviroment that is now changed by us humans.
Same story with may bugs, those things are ... well... generally on the decline throughout europe, except the campus i live on. Because they're on the decline they are a protected species, but here on-campus it's teeming with them. And believe me, those bugs are _stupid_.

moths aren't necessarily driven by light... but
moreso the electrical discharge they sense in
their highly developed antennae....

and when i lived in georgia... we had those huge
moths... you know... those big-assed mo fos that
are larger than your hand...

anyways... a few would always accidentially fly
in the backdoor... and flap around the light
in the den...

i swear to gawd... if you've never seen those
suckers, you'd swear a bat or a small bird flew
in by accident.
